Today we’ve received some experimental music turbines, a tarot-based character creation system, and a marketing campaign to help among the best, longest operating precise play exhibits. Let’s get to that tavern!

I’ve been conscious of Jeeyon Shim’s work since she launched the Kickstarter for Field Guide to Memory in late 2020. It wasn’t lengthy after that I turned an ardent fan and admirer of the quick video games she posted on itch.io, hallmarked by ethereal storytelling, psychological immersion, and a singular, punky design aesthetic. While lots of her video games observe the go well with of Field Guide to Memory, wherein a souvenir is created, many others dive into the transformative, otherwordly, and horrific.

Her latest recreation, The Longest Rest, builds on the Apocalypse World system, and can appear acquainted to anybody who’s performed an RPG earlier than. You arrive in a tavern, weary. The tavern isn’t what it appears. As you discover the tavern, and your individual needs, the tavern will provide you with what you need most. All it asks in alternate is your humanity.

The Indiegogo marketing campaign Shim has arrange is already garnered plenty of consideration and help, and the sport is accompanied by illustrations by Connor Fawcett that are visceral and disturbing. There is a way of loss, hopelessness, and an exploration of what makes somebody human, particularly when confronted with the distinctive, supernatural, and even those that may already be useless.
