Russia threatened on Wednesday to dam Alphabet’s YouTube after Russian state-backed broadcaster RT’s German-language channels had been deleted, and stated it was contemplating retaliating in opposition to German media.
YouTube stated on Tuesday that RT’s channels had breached its COVID-19 misinformation coverage, a transfer Russia’s Foreign Ministry described as “unprecedented information aggression”.
