Jeff Goldblum in Talks to Be Wicked’s Great and Powerful Oz

Jeff Goldblum, infamous kooky outdated man, looks like the proper match to play the good and highly effective Oz in any adaptation of The Wizard of Oz. And because it so occurs, it seems he’ll be taking up the function of the person behind the scenes in Wicked. Variety experiences that Goldblum is in closing talks to play the Wizard within the upcoming two-part Wicked film adaptation helmed by Jon M. Chu.

Goldblum will be a part of Ariana Grande as Glinda, Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba (the long run depraved witch of the west), and Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero (a good-looking citizen of Oz). Wicked, the musical, is predicated on the e book by Gregory Maguire, who wrote a collection of novels that give well-known fairy tales’ twisted beginnings or off-color endings. The story recounts how Glinda and Elphaba, previously college students at an academy of magic in Oz, grew to become the Good Witch and Bad Witch that youngsters know from L. Frank Baum’s books (or, extra seemingly, from the 1939 musical).

The two components of Wicked are set for launch on the Christmases of 2024 and 2025.
