Gmail will begin spam-proofing political fundraising emails this week

Gmail customers might begin seeing extra marketing campaign fundraising emails hitting their inboxes over the following couple days as Google begins rolling out a brand new political filtering system.

Google told Axios on Monday that it was launching a controversial new pilot program to maintain marketing campaign emails out of spam folders this week. The program was introduced again in June and permits candidates, political celebration committees, and management political motion committees to use for spam folder exemptions.

In August, the Federal Election Commission narrowly voted to approve this system after Google requested for the company to log off on it earlier this 12 months.
