The head of communications at Facebook father or mother Meta Platforms, John Pinette, is leaving the corporate, the social media firm mentioned late on Friday.
Chris Norton, vp of worldwide communications, will cowl the function on an interim foundation, a Meta spokesperson mentioned in an emailed assertion to Reuters.
“John Pinette has left Meta. We are thankful for his positive contributions during an intense and significant time in the company’s history, and we wish him well going forward,” the assertion mentioned.
The spokesperson declined to say why Pinette was leaving, citing Meta coverage of not commenting on personnel issues.
The Wall Street Journal first reported Pinette’s departure on Friday.
Pinette was appointed vp of worldwide communications in April 2019, in accordance with the corporate’s web site.
Before becoming a member of the corporate, Pinette led communications for Gates Ventures, the personal workplace and innovation lab of Bill Gates, for 5 years, and was the top of Asia Pacific communications for Google. He additionally held a lot of product and company communications management positions at Microsoft.
