Xiaomi, one in all China’s high-profile tech companies that fell within the crosshairs of the Trump administration, has been faraway from a U.S. authorities blacklist that designated it as a Communist Chinese army firm.
The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has vacated the Department of Defense’s designation of Xiaomi as a CCMC in January, a doc filed on May 25 exhibits.
In February, Xiaomi sued the U.S. authorities over its inclusion within the army blacklist. In March, the D.C. court docket granted Xiaomi a preliminary injunction towards the DoD designation, which might have forbidden all U.S. individuals from buying or possessing Xiaomi’s securities, saying the choice was “arbitrary and capricious.” The ruling was made to stop “irreparable harm” to the Chinese cellphone maker.
