Union Budget 2022: Task Force to Be Set Up for Animation, Gaming

The authorities on Tuesday introduced establishing of a job power to suggest steps for promotion of animation, visible results, gaming, and comedian (AVGC) sector.

The sector provides immense potential to make use of youth, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated in her Budget speech.

“An AVGC promotion task force with all stakeholders will be set up to recommend ways to realise this and build domestic capacity for serving our markets and the global demand,” she stated.

Commenting on the announcement, Jehil Thakkar, associate and media and leisure sector chief, Deloitte India stated the transfer will assist India obtain its potential of 20 lakh jobs within the sector in accordance with Deloitte projections.

“These are critical skills for growth of the metaverse and India is poised to take advantage of this ecosystem,” he stated.
