
Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal advised staff on Monday that the way forward for the social media agency is unsure after the deal to be taken personal underneath billionaire Elon Musk closes. He was talking throughout a company-wide city corridor assembly that was heard by Reuters.
Musk will be a part of Twitter workers for a question-and-answer session at a later date, the corporate advised staff.
As Agrawal listened to workers questions on Musk’s plans for the corporate, the potential of layoffs and the board’s rationale for the deal, he deferred many questions as ones that needs to be requested of Musk.
Musk has stated he believes Twitter needs to be a platform totally free speech. Employees requested Agrawal whether or not former US President Donald Trump, who was completely suspended from Twitter final 12 months, could be allowed to return as soon as Musk takes over.
“Once the deal closes, we don’t know which direction the platform will go,” Agrawal stated, referring to the query relating to Trump. “I believe when we have an opportunity to speak with Elon, it’s a question we should address with him.”
Agrawal additionally advised staff there have been no plans for layoffs.
Bret Taylor, chair of Twitter’s board of administrators, aimed to reassure staff that the settlement with Musk prioritized “operating continuity” till the deal was closed.
“I think we feel very comfortable that (the deal) gives this team the ability to continue to make the company successful in between signing and closing the transaction,” Taylor stated.
