There’s a hidden characteristic in iOS 16 that allows you to see solely your unread messages

If you replace your iPhone to iOS 16 this week, you’re going to need to spend a couple of minutes tweaking your settings. You undoubtedly need to activate haptic suggestions for the keyboard, you may want the battery share again in your standing bar, and it’s a good suggestion to spend a while enjoying round together with your Focus modes.

But there’s one setting that’s so helpful, and so hidden, that I missed it totally in my evaluation of iOS 16. (Thanks to everybody who let me know!) It’s known as Filter Unknown Senders. If you toggle Filter Unknown Senders on — go to Settings, Messages, and scroll down nearly to the underside to seek out it — now you can filter your Messages app to point out you solely the unread threads.
