Despite the truth that a lot of the world’s civilization has died off from a super-flu, the survivors who star in HBO Max’s adaptation of Station Eleven appear to be in fairly good spirits about the entire thing. In a brand new trailer, one man (performed by David Wilmot) even says to the group of survivors he’s with, “We have shelter. We have food. This is the best thing that could have possibly happened.” He’s actually trying on the brilliant facet of the tip of civilization!

While there aren’t lots of different smiles to be discovered within the trailer, post-pandemic life nonetheless appears to be moderately benign for the survivors. There are touring musicians, a museum of civilization that was, and… properly, in case you’ve learn Emily St. John Mandel’s bestselling, Arthur C. Clarke award-winning science fiction novel that impressed this TV adaptation, not the whole lot is hunky-dory within the apocalypse, regardless of how peppy the trailer’s music is.

Here’s the official synopsis, in case you missed it: “A post-apocalyptic saga spanning multiple timelines, this limited drama series tells the stories of survivors of a devastating flu as they attempt to rebuild and reimagine the world anew while holding on to the best of what’s been lost.”

That’s a really noble mission assertion for the final remnants of humanity to have.
