Every Fall, the Bird Photographer of the Year competitors celebrates the range and great thing about the creatures that represent class Aves. The contest is open to hobbyists across the globe, and in 2022 entrants submitted over 20,000 photos of feathered pals of every kind: Some swim, some soar, some burrow, and they’re all truly dinosaurs.

The competitors, sponsored by optics and digital camera firms, helps the avian conservation charity Birds on the Brink. Check out the award-winning photographs.
