Yeon Sang-ho, director of the acclaimed zombie film Train to Busan and the creator of Hellbound (one of many high 10 non-English exhibits on Netflix), isn’t any stranger to horror. So maybe it shouldn’t be a shock that he’s going to make a live-action Korean TV collection of Parasyte, the hit horror manga from Hitoshi Iwaaki (to not be confused with Bong Joon-Ho’s Academy Award-winning movie Parasite), for Netflix.

Published from 1988-95, Parasyte chronicles a world the place a cluster of parasitic life types infect people, disrupt society, and kill an ideal many individuals in extraordinarily gory methods. Eventually, a bunch of people try to combat again in opposition to the invasive species. This new TV collection will likely be titled Parasyte: The Grey to distinguish it from the unique manga, in addition to the acclaimed 2014 anime adaptation and live-action Japanese motion pictures.

Actors Jeon So-nee (When My Love Blooms, Jo Pil-ho: The Dawning Rage), Koo Kyo-hwan (Peninsula, D.P., Escape from Mogadishu), and Lee Jung-hyun (Peninsula, Decision to Leave) are slated to star within the collection. Yeon and Ryu Yong-jae will pen the screenplays. They have beforehand labored on Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area.
