Mercedes had a singular aim: Build a one-off idea car that would journey 1000 kilometers (621 miles) on one cost from a battery pack barely smaller than 100kWh. The consequence was the EQXX, a coupe that appears pretty much as good because the know-how that powers it. Typically these autos are off limits to anybody outdoors of a selected few inside an automaker. But Mercedes determined to allow us to behind the wheel for a check drive.

Designed to slide by the air with as little drag as potential, the EQXX doesn’t wow with off-the-line efficiency. Instead, the ability actually comes after you’ve gotten to freeway velocity. But even then, the idea car is an effectivity machine that seems like the long run. Mercedes has no plans to place the EQXX into manufacturing, however what it is studying now will in some unspecified time in the future land in its autos.
