The academic system is damaged. From Spencer Garland’s perspective, the present education system focuses on a “white-centered vision that tends to dominate traditional schooling and the art industry at large…” Unsatisfied by this, Spencer began BrendaArts, an artwork program that speaks on “…How the student’s identity intersects with graphic design, fashion, music, and cinema while leaving room for them to express themselves in the visual arts.”

One of the methods he makes an attempt to actualize the youngsters is by making his present, Brenda LAB. Based on reveals like Bill Nye the Science Guy, Garland takes us via an early-2000s aesthetic whereas instructing us about matters comparable to ‘Afrofuturism.’ BrendaLAB is as daring, thrilling, and informative as any present for kids!
