Man Arrested After Using AirTag To Track His Victim’s Car

We have been listening to a worrying variety of tales and cases through which Apple’s AirTag monitoring accent has been abused to commit against the law. It appears to be like like now we have one other so as to add to that record, however this one ends on a barely happier notice as the one who was abusing the AirTag was arrested.

Typically within the earlier tales we’ve heard, it was unclear what occurred after, so not less than this has a conclusion. According to the police, they arrested a person from Waterbury after he had allegedly used an AirTag to trace his sufferer’s automotive.

The police have been initially dispatched on Sunday for a “reported domestic dispute”, and later an investigator found that the person had positioned a monitoring gadget inside the sufferer’s automobile. The man has since been charged with first-degree stalking and violation of a protecting order.

This isn’t the primary time we’ve heard of an AirTag getting used for stalking and different legal functions. While Apple has built-in some anti-stalking options into the AirTag, the truth that they’re nonetheless getting used for such functions means that it may stand to be improved upon enormously, so hopefully that’s one thing that Apple is engaged on for future fashions or firmware updates.
