Locke & Key Season 2’s New Trailer Spellbinds Us Into a Darker Tale

Things are about to get a lot worse for the Locke youngsters and their pals.

When we first acquired a glimpse of Locke & Key season two, we have been teased that the Locke youngsters’ acceptance as the fabled guardians of the magical keys and their household property was going to create some fairly massive issues for them—and a sinister risk was already of their midst. Now, we are able to see simply how dangerous that’s going to be for them.

Netflix’s trailer for the variation of Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodríguez’s beloved comedian collection sees Dodge (Laysla De Oliveira) proceed their plan to usurp management of the Keys from the Locke youngsters, disguising themselves as Kinsey’s boyfriend, Gabe (Griffin Gluck), to get nearer to the household and study the true secrets and techniques of each the magical keys Kinsey (Emilia Jones), Tyler (Connor Jessup), and Bode (Jackson Robert Scott) have inherited, in addition to the magical pathways and powers they open up. Not to say the darkish demons which might be locked behind a few of these keys.

But Dodge isn’t the one bother the Locke youngsters are going to need to cope with, as they grapple with embracing their future as a brand new era of Keepers of the Keys. With that comes the perpetual time bomb that in the future they’ll get older—and lose all information of the existence of magic, and the threats that they’re at the moment holding at bay, and at the moment hiding from their mom Nina (Darby Stanchfield).

“The first season, we always thought of as being the story of the kids learning that they’re the new Keepers of the Keys. With season two, we want to explore what that responsibility means,” co-showrunner Meredith Averill beforehand teased to io9 when requested about season two. “What does it mean as they get closer to being 18 years old—the age when you age out of magic—what does that mean? What does that look like? We cover so much of the comics in the first season, but there’s so much of the lore that we held back on and new keys we created for the show that we’re excited to share.”

Locke & Key returns to Netflix on October 22.
