French director Jean-Pierre Jeunet has made some extremely well-regarded movies like Delicatessan, The City of Lost Children, and Amélie (and he additionally directed Alien: Resurrection, about which the much less mentioned the higher), but it surely’s been practically a decade since he final wrote and directed a film. That will change this February, when Jeunet’s colourful, offbeat sci-fi comedy Bigbug a few robotic rebellion involves Netflix.

Now, there are surprisingly—or maybe appropriately—two totally different synopses for the movie, and I’m going to provide each to you:

1) “A group of bickering suburbanites find themselves stuck together when an android uprising causes their well-intentioned household robots to lock them in for their own safety.”

2) “Humans have ceded most tasks to AI in 2045, even in nostalgic Alice’s home. So when robots stage a coup, her androids protectively lock her doors.”

If you watch this trailer, it looks as if a number of the androids are staging a revolution, whereas the robots are attempting to guard the bougie individuals inside Alice’s gaudy home. But perhaps a number of the robots have gone rogue as properly? Look, right here’s the trailer, make your personal name:

I’m undecided it actually issues which inorganic beings are doing the revolting, provided that the whole lot proven on this trailer is completely weird. Besides the actually fascinating and distinctive robotic/android designs, there’s some naked backside spanking, a Catwoman outfit, and I believe I even noticed a few aliens in there extraordinarily briefly? And the colour palette of the film is simply pretty; even when the plot finally ends up being incomprehensible, it is perhaps value expecting the visible artistry alone.

Bigbug stars Elsa Zylberstein, Isabelle Nanty, Stéphane De Groodt, Dominque Pinon, Youssef Hadji, André Dussolier, Alban Lenoir, Claud Perron, and Claire Chust. It premieres on Netflix on February 11.
