Parts of Florida stay catastrophe zones within the wake of Hurricane Ian’s devastation—and, within the aftermath of the storm, some officers are coming underneath fireplace for not doing extra to arrange their residents for the injury.

Lee County, which contains town of Fort Myers, Pine Island, and Sanibel Island, was one of many counties hardest hit by Ian. The county solely issued evacuation orders on Tuesday, giving individuals little time to arrange. Ian hit Fort Myers as a Category 4 storm on Wednesday afternoon. In Florida, of the more than 100 deaths recorded up to now, at the least 54 are in Lee County—the very best dying toll of any county within the state.
