The Child’s Play franchise is making a leap to the small display screen with its first TV present. Chucky, set after the seventh movie Cult of Chucky, sees the murder-happy doll proceed his reign of terror. After homosexual teen Jake Wheeler (Zachary Arthur) picks up the Good Guy doll at a yard sale, it doesn’t take lengthy for issues to go as they often do on this scenario: very, very poorly.

Brad Dourif returns to voice Chucky, and the story takes on some poignancy because the collection is ready within the serial killer’s hometown of Hackensack, New Jersey. Or fairly, it would be poignant if he didn’t have a scheme for the city, one which includes Jennifer Tilly’s Tiffany Valentine, his girlfriend who managed to get her soul again in her human physique. The incontrovertible fact that that is all taking place on Halloween, and the city is thought for having violent spikes on the vacation, in all probability has one thing to do with it. Still, perhaps there’ll be some connection between him and Jake, who buys Chucky to deal with the loss of life of his mom.

With unique Child’s Play creator Don Mancini on the helm, there isn’t any fear of Chucky not feeling prefer it belongs with the remainder of the canon, which doesn’t acknowledge the 2019 remake. What stays to be seen is what comes of the franchise after the present’s first season involves an in depth. Mancini’s been open about eager to continue the franchise with movies, and it’ll be fascinating to see how far the present goes earlier than these movies begin up once more.

Chucky premieres on USA and Syfy on October 12. Mancini and Tilly might be holding a panel at New York Comic-Con that’ll premiere the primary episode in its goofy, bloody entirety.
