Apple has ended its consulting settlement with former chief design officer Jony Ive, according to The New York Times.

Ive left Apple in 2019 to start out an unbiased design firm known as LoveFrom, and in a press launch, Ive had stated he appeared ahead to working with Apple “for many years to come.” Apple signed a contract on the time with Ive valued north of $100 million, although it “restricted Mr. Ive from taking on work that Apple found competitive,” The New York Times reviews.

But now, three years later, it appears Ive and Apple have determined to name it quits. From The New York Times:

In latest weeks, with the contract developing for renewal, the events agreed to not lengthen it. Some Apple executives had questioned how a lot the corporate was paying Mr. Ive and had grown pissed off after a number of of its designers left to hitch Mr. Ive’s agency. And Mr. Ive needed the liberty to tackle shoppers while not having Apple’s clearance, these individuals stated.
