Amazon staff at a small facility in New Jersey have proven sufficient curiosity to carry a vote on unionizing, the US National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) mentioned on Monday.
At least 60 of 200 staff from Amazon’s DNK5 depot in Bayonne, New Jersey, have submitted playing cards searching for to prepare as a part of Local 713 International Brotherhood of the Trade Union, the NLRB mentioned.
The information follows rising curiosity in organizing at Amazon, which for years had resisted unions in its US operations.
Just final month, hundreds of workers on the JFK8 warehouse in Staten Island voted to prepare underneath a special group generally known as the Amazon Labor Union, and staff at a second Staten Island warehouse are weighing later this month whether or not to unionize.
An election date and phrases have but to be agreed upon for the supply station DNK5. Amazon might dispute the validity of this newest petition.
