
Google has gained a deal to supply cloud companies to Elon Musk’s SpaceX, which has launched a slew of Starlink satellites to supply high-speed Internet, it stated on Thursday.
SpaceX will arrange floor stations inside Google’s information centres that hook up with the Starlink satellites, enabling quick and safe Internet companies through Google Cloud, the search large stated.
This service is anticipated to be accessible within the second half of 2021 for enterprise clients, the corporate stated.
The deal comes at a time when demand for cloud-computing companies has soared, with gamers like Microsoft and Amazon dominating the market. Cloud corporations have additionally tapped into the telecoms sector, due to a bounce in demand for 5G connectivity.
Google’s cloud enterprise accounts for about 7 % of its whole income, as of the most recent earnings report.
Last October, Microsoft gained an identical deal from SpaceX to attach its Azure cloud computing platform to Starlink.
