I wasn’t kidding after I informed you that GM goes all-in on Ultium, the battery know-how behind the corporate’s electrification efforts, to not point out a whole era of Chevy and GMC EVs. The new firm might be partnering with quite a few established corporations and utilities within the power business. For instance, GM might be working with SunPower to develop and market a built-in house power storage system that includes an electrical automobile with photo voltaic panels and battery banks to allow straightforward Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) energy transfers. So when you look at the numbers, there is a desire — and we’re seeing it very clearly from commercial customers reaching out to us and asking us for assistance to deal with some of these problems.”
GM can be transferring its public charging station community, Ultium Charge 360, over to GM Energy. Charge 360 launched in 2021 in Washington, Florida and California. GM partnered with Blink Charging, ChargeLevel, EV Connect, EVgo, FLO, Greenlots and SemaConnect to streamline their collective 60,000-plug community of 350 kW Level 3 DC quick chargers and supply “more seamless access” to drivers. The automaker constructed upon that community this previous July, asserting a 500-station “coast-to-coast” growth in partnership with EVGo. In all, GM hopes to have 2,700 such EV quick charging stations throughout the US and Canada beneath its Ultium Charge 360 banner by 2025.
